Set-up

First, be sure you have the following things

2) people, 1) tape measure, 1) ruler, 1) square, 2) 3/4” wrenches, 2) 14m wrenches, 1) 11m wrench, 2) tie straps, 1) marker, 1) air pressure gauge

The following instructions are guidelines, we recommend that each individual fine-tunes their front end alignment to their liking, after riding the quad

Front #, rear # are referencing the amount of threads showing on the hiem joints

450SX 450XC- Caster .75", camber .375", toe-in 0

DS 450-

KFX-450R- Caster .75",  toe-out .0625"-.125"

LT-R450- Front 3.5, rear 3.5

TRX250R-

TRX450R-  Front 7, rear 2- Caster .75", camber .25", toe-in .0625"

TRX450R with LT-R450 spindles- Front 3.5, rear 3.5- Caster .75" Camber .125" Toe-in .25"

WALSH 2012-2016- Front 3.5, rear 3.5

WALSH 1997-2005-

YFZ450R- Front 4, rear 4- Caster .625", camber .125", toe-in .125"

RIDE HEIGHT

Start with one person on the ATV (ideally the rider of the ATV) holding the handlebars straight

Settle the front end by kneeling on the bumper mount and steer the handlebars from the extreme left to the extreme right and back to center, take your weight off the bumper mount and steer once more to the extreme right and back to center

Front- measure from directly at the forward most area of the chassis (where it is still flat) behind the lower a-arm mount

Front ride height should be between 7.75”-7” and should be .25” higher than the rear

Rear- measure from directly in front of the foot peg at the chassis

Rear ride height should be between 7.5”-6.75”

CASTER

*The lower the caster measurement, the more responsive the front end will be

First turn the handle bars to the extreme left to fully expose the ball joints, place the ‘framing’ square flat to the ground and set it to the edge of the lower ball joint cup

Measure from the edge of the ball joint cup to the outside edge of the square, do this on the lower and upper a-arm

To calculate caster, subtract the lower measurement from the upper measurement

You should be between .625” / 1.125” (.125" = 1 degree)

CAMBER

*Be sure to make the same amount of turns to both hiem joints so the caster adjustment will not change

Align the wheels straight using a line on the floor (or something to judge from to ensure that the wheels are truly straight)

Place the ‘framing’ square flat to the ground against the outside of the tire and measure the distance from the edge of the square and the outer most bulge of the tire sidewall

Camber should measure between 0-.75”

TOE-IN

*Be sure that whatever you do to the right side you also do to the left side

Use the tie straps to connect from the handlebar grip to the rear grab bar and measure (like in the picture) to make sure that they are the same on each side (this is the X measurement)

Mark the center of the front tire on the sidewall

Measure from the center of the tire to the opposite lower bumper mount

Set the tape measure across the front of both front tires at the sidewall, do the same to the back side of the front tires and subtract the 2 numbers

Be sure that the original X measurement is the same as when you first set it, if not then you will need to even these settings again

Toe-in should be between 0-.25” *Except KFX-450R
